Nationalism in Action – ‘Rex’ of Anti-Communist Combat HQ

As an outspoken activist, fighter, father, and Catholic, Rex, the owner of the Anti-Communist Combat HQ channel on Telegram, has garnered himself a respectable following with a mixture of family insight, insightful political commentary, and pushing young men to embrace a fighting spirit.

We reached out to him for an interview, to give readers a deeper insight into Rex as an individual, but also into a side of Nationalism and the dissident sphere that is often underrepresented.

How would you describe yourself and your channel?

I’m a Catholic White advocate, I use physical discipline and training as a tool to prepare my soul and my body for the temptations of this world and the hardships of being a dissident.

This way of living has brought me a deeper sense of satisfaction and happiness than I had ever felt before and I want to use my platform as a tool to teach what I know and to encourage others to do likewise.

Describe your political journey, how did you get where you are today?

My political journey was long and convoluted. In high school I was sort of a Republican by default. I didn’t know much or care about much more than football but I had a few conflicts with Mexicans at school.

When I got out into the work force I got demoralized by the lack of meritocracy and my natural growing resentment of capitalism lead me to leftists writings. I spent a fair amount of time in the leftist milieu where I was an odd fit, since I never stopped being fit and maintaining that sort of discipline.

Eventually I was sort of forced out because the left was not really about economics, it was obsessed with race. I was happy to go along. Being raised around affluent suburbs I had never really encountered diversity face to face.

But the obsession was too much, it seemed that they were only trying to make a better world for blacks. Even worse the tranny stuff started being normalized. Before it became mainstream I remember being exposed to articles about lady penises and how genital preferences were bigoted.

Searching for a different way I fell into Trumpism. At first I was actually concerned with what was developing. So I went to see and in the process encountered the violence of the antifa leftists. They were brutal, criminal, and the media covered for them. Those of us who fought shoulder to shoulder against them developed a sort of camaraderie and trust that can only develop in those sorts of situations.

I encountered a nationalist who said some things to me and recommended I read Mein Kampf. In any other scenario I probably would have ignored the suggestion but having fought side by side my respect for him lead me to open my mind.

In Mein Kampf I felt a voice speak to me which I had never felt in any leftist literature. In the chapters about his suffering in Vienna and how a deliberately dysfunctional economy destroyed families I found someone who was concerned for the reasons that I was concerned.

Following that I read for my legionaries. I read obsessively for quite a while. Since then I have known that my purpose is to fight for these things I believe in. The way I manage my family, my social media, my actions and the projects I take on are all an extension of this nationalist awakening. Mein Kampf saved me from a life of degeneracy and hedonism, when I was aimless it gave me direction, when I was bereft it gave me hope. Now this is what I live for.

Did you have a particular goal or mission in mind when you started your channel?

I have had various platforms for years. They have always been geared toward trying to promote some sort of activism and knowledge.

With anti-communist combat I want to motivate people to train and get involved with AC’s and PF. I want them to be White pilled and encouraged.

Based Books is meant to provide a service. For people who do not have the time to read to be able to listen to important literature. I believe the more informed someone is the more depth there is to their commitment. It is harder to be deradicalized when your well of knowledge runs deep.

I also have a Catholic channel in which we used to pray the rosary every night. We did so for a couple of years until my training time interrupted the schedule we had set.

How long have you been an activist in the dissident sphere?

Since 2016, I began organizing MAGA type events that were friendly to White Advocates. I began by helping setup existing MAGA events, thinking they would promote closed borders. After seeing nationalists run off and hearing speakers talk about legal immigration I knew that I had to do something more to push things in a better direction.

We had various events, the most consistent of which was the “vigils against the victims of illegal immigrants”. At the time they drew out hundreds of people in opposition and they cost the system a lot of money to police. My biggest victory was in normalizing the presence of nationalists among the conservatives at that time when the general spirit was “Unite the Right”.

What do you think is most needed within the dissident community?

I think things are moving in a good direction. The Active Clubs have capable leaders and PF also has great leadership. I think maintaining unity and avoiding division are key things. The system cannot beat us at this point, it is our game to lose.

I think now is a time for consolidation. There are so many more nationalists who have not yet taken the plunge into living their ideals. I hope to encourage them to do so but the channels I run are a drop in the bucket compared to the big actions and events being put on by Active Clubs and Patriot Front.

Changing topic slightly, you’ve mentioned, on your channel, being involved in combat sports, fighting in amateur promotions, winning a championship and multiple gold medals, have you ever considered opening your own training gym?

I live in the mountains and running a gym is a big endeavor. Also I don’t think my skills at this point really justify opening my own gym. I do have mats in my garage and whenever I can I do impart the skills I have to visiting nationalists. Perhaps in the future in association with the Patria Gloria guys that’s something that could happen. They’re doing great work and making all nationalists look good. They just opened their own gym and it’s exciting to see them succeed and grow.

Any last second words of wisdom or advice you’d like to give to any young nationalists who might read this?

Tribe and Train pretty much encompasses it. The biggest cure for being blackpilled is getting active. Once you start fighting back you feel that your fate is now in your hands.
