Nationalism in Action – John Fassbinder of the American Freedom Party

Recently, after the Trump team made plain their desire to continue the replacement of American workers with those of foreign birth, we made a post on Telegram mentioning the need to support true America First parties. In keeping with this idea, we interviewed John Fassbinder of the American Freedom Party in order to gain more insight into his role within the party, how the American Freedom Party is working to represent the American people.

For those who don’t know, tell us a bit about yourself, the American Freedom Party, and how you gained the position of Executive Director within the party.

The American Freedom Party is a unique arm of the pro-White American Nationalist arena. We are the only duly registered political party with the capability of running candidates, which is something we’ve done in the past and continue to pursue today. Over the years, the number of states where we’ve had ballot access has grown and shrunk depending on how many candidates we’ve found willing to run in those areas. The biggest challenge is finding candidates, but we actively seek out individuals who align with our vision and are willing to run on a pro-White platform.

Our focus is on countering anti-Whiteness at the ballot box rather than solely in street activism. While activism is crucial, our ability to operate in the formal political system sets us apart and allows us to take a unique approach that few others can replicate.

In 2019, The Party underwent a major revitalization effort, during which I and other younger dissidents came together to strengthen the organization. I joined The Party in 2019 and was initially appointed to regional-level leadership positions before being appointed to the Board of Directors in 2021. In 2022, I was voted Executive Director, making me second in command to the Chairman.

I’ve been involved in dissident politics since I was 17 years old. I was part of the leadership in Identity Evropa and the American Identity Movement and supported these organizations as a “Benefactor-level” patron. My appointment as Executive Director, given my relatively young age, was not a decision made lightly by the Board of Directors. I am deeply honored to hold this position and grateful for the guidance of such distinguished leaders as we continue to grow The Party.

Who are some of the other key figures within the American Freedom Party’s leadership?

The American Freedom Party’s leadership is particularly notable for its experience and intellectual caliber. Our Board of Directors includes highly regarded and well-established figures within dissident politics, such as Dr. Kevin B. MacDonald, Dr. Tomislav Sunic, Mr. James Edwards, Chairman Ralph Brandt and William Daniel Johnson, JD. These individuals have been instrumental in shaping the direction of the movement and bring decades of insight to the table. Mr. Johnson also operates a successful law practice based in Los Angeles, and we maintain two national offices: one located on Broadway in New York and another in Los Angeles. This leadership team has been a cornerstone of The Party since its founding in 2009, and their continued commitment ensures that we remain steadfast in defending Our People and Our Nation.

What are some of the major goals of the American Freedom Party right now?

Right now, the American Freedom Party’s primary goal is establishing ballot access in more states nationally. We are also focused on growing both our Workforce and our Actionforce departments to staff vital roles. This includes positions integral to The Party’s inner functions and our public-facing arm, where activists distribute promotional materials, perform banner drops, and spread awareness.

Another critical goal is fostering White solidarity within dissident politics. Far too often, cliques and divisions plague the broader movement, wasting energy on internal conflicts instead of focusing on our shared goals. We work to bridge these gaps and facilitate camaraderie among pro-White organizations while maintaining discernment about whom we collaborate with.

We also aim to establish credibility for the pro-White sphere of politics. It’s essential to show that we are legitimate, law-abiding individuals with reasonable goals. By being public-facing and unapologetic in our rhetoric, we hope to shed the shadowy, conspiratorial image that has long been forced onto pro-White politics. We are here to stay, and we are not afraid to show our faces or stand behind our beliefs.

Without getting into specifics, what are some of the electoral victories the American Freedom Party has achieved so far?

Our electoral victories have primarily come at the local level, such as city council positions or other lower-level appointed offices. While we have not always won these elections, we consider all our electoral efforts a success. Running candidates provides us with invaluable exposure and a platform that is difficult to censor. The government is legally required to provide a platform for our candidates to speak during campaigns, allowing us to present our ideas to the public in a way few other efforts can.

Winning an election is only part of the victory. Every campaign is an opportunity to show the public that we exist, to promote our ideas unapologetically, and to introduce people to our vision for the future.

What is your personal history within the dissident sphere?

I became involved in dissident politics at 17 and joined my first formal organization, Identity Evropa, at 18. I was drawn to Identity Evropa because of its professional, polished, and well-dressed presentation. Unlike many other early WN groups, which often came across as thuggish or unsavory, Identity Evropa represented the ideals I held in a manner that I found professional and approachable.

Over time, I rose through the ranks, serving as a chapter leader in multiple states before becoming the North Atlantic Regional Overseer. Later, I was involved with the American Identity Movement in a leadership capacity as well. After AIM dissolved, I was introduced to the American Freedom Party. Initially skeptical, I was eventually impressed by its history, leadership, and mission. From there, | worked my way up through the ranks, ultimately becoming Executive Director in 2022.

Who are some of your inspirations, both politically and personally?

Dr. William Pierce is certainly an big inspiration, both personally and politically. Particularly, his founding of the Church of Cosmotheism and his ability to articulate this nature-based worldview that aligns with Our People’s innate values and instincts is unparalleled. Dr. Pierce didn’t just create an organization; he provided a framework for understanding life and our place within it that resonates deeply with those willing to engage with it seriously. His intellectual rigor and clarity of thought continue to guide many of us in our journey, and his work serves as a cornerstone of pro-White philosophical foundations.

Nathan Damigo is another significant inspiration to me. As one of the first individuals who brought the ideas of White identity politics into a more public-facing, professional, and relatable space, he demonstrated the power of a polished, well-structured approach. Nathan’s courage in standing firm for Our People, even in the face of overwhelming opposition, and his ability to connect with others on a personal and ideological level have left a lasting impression on me. He inspired me to step forward and contribute to Our Cause in a meaningful way, and my respect for him has only grown over time. While they often say not to meet your heroes for fear of disillusionment, Nathan Damigo is the rare exception. He remains steadfast and principled, embodying our ideological values with grace and determination.

Thomas Rousseau is another remarkable individual whom I hold in high regard. As a young man leading in an exceptionally turbulent time, Thomas has shown an unparalleled level of professionalism and dedication. His ability to organize and mobilize while articulating our beliefs with precision and respect is nothing short of inspiring. Despite relentless persecution, he has maintained composure and continues to push forward with unshakable resolve. Seeing someone of my generation take on such a monumental role with such competence gives me great hope for the future of Our Cause. He embodies the type of leadership we desperately need: disciplined, courageous, and focused on the long-term survival and prosperity of our people.

Alek Yerbury, of Britain’s National Rebirth Party, is another leader whose no-nonsense approach and professionalism inspire me. Alek represents the type of individual who commands respect simply by his demeanor and dedication. He has worked tirelessly to usher in a new era of nationalism in his country, where the movement is often fractured or overly unserious. Alek’s ability to balance intellectual depth with practical action makes him a standout figure in our broader struggle. His efforts remind me that our fight is not limited to one nation but is part of a global awakening among Our People.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the countless individuals I’ve worked with personally throughout my journey in dissident politics. These are the men and women who are rarely recognized by name but who dedicate their time, energy, and resources to this struggle every single day. From my time in Identity Evropa and the American Identity Movement to my current role in the American Freedom Party, I have been fortunate to stand alongside the most selfless, courageous, and driven people I’ve ever known. These are individuals who don’t seek fame or glory—they do what they do because they believe in The Cause. They are often nameless and faceless to the public, but they are the backbone of this movement.

Their sacrifices—whether it be their careers, their personal lives, or even their safety—are made with the
understanding that what we are fighting for is far greater than ourselves. These people inspire me every day to keep moving forward, to keep fighting, and to never lose sight of the bigger picture. They are my brothers and sisters in this Eternal Struggle, and their unwavering dedication strengthens my own resolve.

I also draw immense inspiration from the artistic and cultural creators within our sphere, many of whom I’ve encountered through what was once known as the White Art Collective. These artists, musicians, and creators have made it their mission to preserve and celebrate the beauty of Our People’s Heritage through their work. Individuals like Mary Anna of WitchMother, Lord Wolfshield of Wolfshield Studios, and Jeff Winston, the founder of the White Art Collective, have dedicated themselves to building and sustaining a cultural renaissance for our people. Their art speaks to our shared struggles and triumphs and reminds us of the beauty we are fighting to preserve.

It is these individuals—whether leaders, creators, or the countless activists working tirelessly behind the scenes— who give me hope for the future. They are the reason I remain committed to this cause, and I am deeply honored to the core to represent them publicly. Their contributions, both seen and unseen, form the foundation of everything we do, and I draw strength and inspiration from them every day.

What do you hope to see more of among the dissident sphere?

I hope to see more professionalism, polish, and seriousness among the individuals within Our Cause. Too often, dissident politics has been treated as a hobby or as a form of entertainment by people who don’t seem to grasp the gravity of what we’re doing. This is not a game. It is the single most important and serious struggle of our time. We are fighting for the survival of Our People and the preservation of a heritage that spans centuries. That is no small responsibility, and I want more people to approach it with the seriousness and dedication it deserves.

I also hope to see greater unity within the dissident sphere. Far too often, I see petty bickering, infighting, and clique-building that undermines our shared goals. While differences of opinion are inevitable, we must remember that we are united by a common purpose: securing a future for Our People. Internal squabbling is a distraction, and it allows our external enemies to continue their work unopposed. We need to focus on building bridges, fostering camaraderie, and working together despite differences in strategy, or other minor disagreements. The broader sphere of dissident politics must learn to function as a cohesive force, marching shoulder-to-shoulder toward the same overarching goal.

At the same time, I believe we must be more discerning about who we choose to elevate as leaders and
representatives of our cause. Too often, we’ve seen individuals who are self-serving, egotistical, or outright incompetent rise to prominence, only to embarrass The Cause and undermine our legitimacy. It is critical that we elevate the best among us—those who are serious, capable, and committed to The Struggle for Our People. There are many fine individuals within Our Cause, and I want to see more of them step forward to lead with integrity and competence.

Finally, I want to see more progress in terms of presenting a public image that commands respect. We need to reject the caricatures forced upon us by the lying press and present ourselves as the serious, professional, and well-intentioned Cause that we are. This is not just about aesthetics; it’s about creating an image that inspires confidence and trust among Our People. If we can do that—if we can embody the ideals we espouse and lead by example—I truly believe we can move the dissident sphere toward a brighter, more united, and more effective future.

Do you have any advice in particular for young men and women in the dissident sphere? Any lessons you’ve learned that you want to pass on to them?

My advice to young men and women in the dissident sphere is this: don’t fall victim to hopelessness or despair. The path we walk is not an easy one, and it can often feel like the odds are insurmountable. But remember that those who came before us faced struggles just as great, if not greater. Many of the great structures of Europe had their foundation’s laid by people who knew they would never see the fruits of their labor. They worked not for themselves, but for their posterity. In the same way, we are laying the foundation for something greater than ourselves. Our task is not to seek personal gain or glory, but to do our part so that future generations may one day live in a world where Our People thrive.

It’s important to understand that this is a long-term struggle. You may not see the “Final Victory,” so to speak, in your lifetime, but that does not diminish the importance of the role you play. Every contribution matters, no matter how small it may seem. And if you are involved in this fight for clout, money, or personal recognition, I can tell you now that it’s not worth it. The sacrifices you will make far outweigh any personal benefits, and if your motivations are self-serving, you will burn out quickly.

Be discerning in who you work with and surround yourself with people you trust. Trust your instincts and your judgment, and don’t be afraid to make hard decisions if they are the right ones for The Cause. Understand that you will never make everyone happy, and that’s okay. What matters is that you stay true to your principles and your purpose.

Most importantly, take pride in your enemies. If the people who oppose you are the same people working to undermine Our People and Our Civilization, then you are on the right path. Their hatred is a badge of honor, and it should serve as a reminder that what you are doing matters.

Finally, remember that this is not about you. It’s about something far greater. We are all just cogs ina much larger machine, playing our part in a struggle that spans generations. If you keep that in mind—if you stay humble, dedicated, and focused on the bigger picture—you will find the strength to persevere, no matter the challenges you face.
